Adam's Book

This was the other project I promised to make for my SIL in the middle of making Christmas Cards. A mini book for Adam 18th.
I've used Oliver from Basic Grey, it was 12inch pack but I also had some 6inch papers left so I used them both.
You can see the whole book at my other blog All in One place but I post differently over there, you have to go to the list on the top of my side bar and choose a catergory in this case it will be Adam's 18th and if I've done it right it should link straight to his book.

Envelope Card

So Everybody Art Challenge is for an Envelope card but there was no way I could have an empty envelope.
First off I made the envelope using the tutorial on Heather's Blog and the papers are possibly Cosmo Cricket.
To decorate I used the Magnolia Doo Hickey swirls and EK success funky flower punches.
Didn't realise this first pic was so blurry, sorry but it gets better.

I decorated inside, well just the bit you could see and I had issues with the catch to hold it closed. First off I tried a magnet but it kept pulling the paper off, next I used a velcro button, its a bit better but not pefect but it will do.

I made a gift holder inside, it holds a present for DD for tomorrow.

Here's a closer look, matching flowers and I made the pocket for the gift card. I also used the Martha Stewart round the page punches but this one I can chop it up to make it smaller and the deep edge doily punch for round the oval. Of course the adorable cute image is a Whiff of Joy.
Do pop over to the challenge blog and check out the gorgeous creations made by the team.
I'm having internet issues this morning, I use firefox and its on a go slow, at the moment I'm using Google Chrome but I've no bookmarks and still finding my feet but at least I can post todays blog post.

Modern Wedding

When I saw this image and knew of all the Wedding cards needed this year I knew I had to have it. Its a Tiddly Inks image You and me, there is a couple more but wasn't keen and the other one I did like had vampire teeth possibly not suitable for a wedding card and I trying to avoid the cute Wyn images.
The papers are are My Minds Eye and when I saw that it had printed Today, tomorrow and forever printed on it I did my utmost to avoid covering it. Then had a problem covering anything but I think the minimalistic look suits the image.
No sure on the dodgy rolled flowers but I'm determined to get the hang of them.
Well I didn't work out the pink Hedgie card for Saturday well since I've been informed a blue baby card is needed, thank goodness for Mos' images, its coloured and ready to be made in a card.

Mo's Golfer

I need some mens cards unfortunately they still have birthdays and at least finding an image is easy when you use Mo's Big Guy images this time I've used Big Guy Golfing.
The papers are the freebies out of a craft mag ideal colours for a man card but that was the last easy part.
So out came the zigzag border and wrought iron fench border punches from Martha Stewart and my tiny SU punch for faux brads. I didn't find my colour paperclips but brought some more but I did have to raise the whole image mat using sticky fixers.

Had a couple of questions lately one do I use silicone glue to give my images dimension and the answer is yes, that means I'm in control has to how high I want the layers also it helps to keep the curve shape when it dries.

Another was how I coloured the dress of the WOJ bride, I used prisms/polychrome pencils for colouring so I use one that goes with the papers with the latest card it was pink. I draw over the lines of the dress creases or where I think shadow would be then using a clean paper stump and sansodor I spread the colour leaving paler pink and white. Sound double dutch when I read this back so hope you get the idea.

Karen aka Saxo Stamper/Diary of an ordinary Girl asked me to mentioned this candy, its not an ordinary candy but a way to donate much needed funds for a single Mum called Ruth. Please pop over to Karen blog and read Ruth's plight and help.

Floral Frenzy

Gosh time for another challenge on Penny Black Saturday Challenge this time is another easy one, well I think so Floral Frenzy. Of course have I used any of my brought flowers, errrrrr.... No.
So I've used the woodware daisy punch, you have to punch two of for each flower and then used circle punches for centres but I have embossed them to give a dome look.
The papers are First Edition not sure which ones and possible one of my many favourite Hedgie stamps perfect for a baby card, works in blue too. Sentiment is Stampin Up and so are the punches.
Do pop over and check out the team and we would love for you to join us.
Well best laid plans and all that, had one of those days yesterday so we will have to see if I've time for Scrapbooking but I've a couple of pages that need to finish so hopefully I can get at least them done.

LIM Cut it Out

Well these were an absolute pain to photo, especially the white ones so these are the best of a bad job. Today is the last day to enter Less is More cut it out challenge so I thought I had better post the ones I've done. The problem is having checked some entries I wanted to have a go at making some of them.
My first is probably the one that came to my head when I first saw the challenge using the square anywhere punch from Martha Stewart, don't you hate that chap on the TV selling them he makes it look so easy again this was the best of a bad job. The leaves are my favourite Sizzix die and use it a lot in scrapbooking and the flowers are punched ones again.  That just leaves the stampin up sentiment and punches.

So having seen the gorgeous white cards that Chrissie and Mandy have made I had to make a version too. I have used the heart embossing folder inside. I've used various punches and the Magnolia swirl die.

I've never seen Barbara from Clarity use their stamp but I saw a card on someones blog and I had to have the stamp. As you can seen I cut out the O and used it as a template for the scene I made, which I then used sticky fixers to give it depth behind the O.
I saw this card  and I just had to have a go but I didn't want it to look completely like the one I saw. I used a stamping up folder and punched a flower off to the side which is similar to the Christmas card my Stampin Up friend Nikki made. I can see now I've found the link that I could've used some gems in the centre.
I've got a weekend at home just got to make a couple of cards today and then I've a weekend of Scrapbooking

Adele

When I saw Mo's Adele I knew she had to be mine, love her hat and petticoats. I've used this Sketch Saturday with Dreamcatcher papers from First Edition.
I know I've only used one patterned sheet but they're all a bit too busy and using the swiss dots folder on white made sure the emphasis is on the image.
The border is the Meridian die from Memory box, yes I know again but I do love alond with the retro flowers even though I've promised to use some the hundreds of brought flowers I seem to always return to my punches. The sentiment is a teeny wish set from Stampin Up and using the punches to go with them.
Definitely going to use Adele again.

WOYWW

It's not RUB this WOYWW rather Lock and Lock brought these boxes from The Range not sure if they're cheaper than RUB but they're now brought and as you can see flowers are sorted.

Here's the before picture, no more falling of the shelf especially has some were glass bottles. It did cost a substantial amount out of my craft pot especially has I'm saving for the new London Penny Black stamps.
What I don't understand though is when I want a certain coloured flower it's never quite right surely I don't need more!!!!!!!!!!!

Simon Says Anything goes

Now that I've found out how easy to make a side stepped card, I love making them and before Christmas I brought the Magnolia Church with the intention of making another. With Simon Says Stamps Challenge Anything Goes this was the ideal opportunity does mean this post is a bit photo heavy.

Photobucket

The papers are Echo Park Yours Truly and I've used the Cherish border from Memory Box. The Tilda I've used in the picture is Flower Girl from the Wedding Collection. The sentiment is Whiff of Joy General Sayings.
I've also used the Magnolia Bride and Bridesmaid and the Martha Stewart deep edge doily punch round my oval mat. The corner is the Madera Corner which at the moment is out of stock at Simon Says Stamps.

Don't forget the amazing prize that someone has to win but you have to enter to win it.

Swirls

Time for another challenge for Everybody Art Challenge and this week its for swirls or in my case just one. I've used a gorgeous Saturated Canary image with First Edition papers, my swirl is of course Magnolia Doo-Hickey die. I've also used the Meridian border die from Memory box and the flowers are EK success.
Finished with a bit of ribbon and a craftwork sentiment using Stampin up oval punches.
Do pop over and check out the team and see their gorgeous creations.
Bit of a late night yesterday, went to a Stampin Up party with Nikki who was demo-ing which is always dangerous to my purse and last night was no exception.

A Fairy for Monday

I was inspired to use the black gingham ribbon and the touch of black by my Simon Says team-mate Dawny. Although it was all going to pot when I discovered my ribbon was in a safe place but I was deterimined to find it luckily half an hour later I found it hanging on a hook wonder why I didn't bother to look there!
The papers are Doodlebug, the ribbon and flowers from Wild Orchid and sentiment from Stampin Up.
Image is a Sugar Nellie although I would have prefer not to have a rabbit but since he was there I couldn't just ignore him.
Well we had a fabulous night Saturday although the diet as been extremely difficult this week and things are not looking too good for my weigh in tomorrow but that was the last celebration. Whoops no its not DD birthday is in a couple of weeks but I shall just have to be more restrained.

Walker

Isn't she adorable, another gorgeous digi by Mo Manning called Walker and she was so easy to colour and cut out too.
I've used this weeks sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday and used Kaiser Lullaby papers. The flowers are my EK sucess retro flower punches and the swirl is MFT. To finish ribbon and pearls with a WOJ sentiment.
Hopefully I'm not suffering from too much from the night before.

Crafty Bargains

So this week the challenge on Penny Black Saturday Challenge is show us your Crafty Bargains not necessary a PB bargain but you do have to include a PB image on your creation.
I haven't brought anything in the sales but I was lucky enough to buy a Bloom and Grow pack from My Minds Eye from The Range before Christmas for next to nothing.
Now that Christmas is over and Easter eggs have already started to make an appearance in the supermarkets I thought it was only right to get my Penny Black Bunnies out and I've included a couple of Memory Box dies that I've recently brought. Finished with some tinky flowers and a bit of ribbon.
Do check out the fab creations by the team and you could be in for a chance of a prize too.

Prize for this week will be from Crimson Cloud
Well I shall be out enjoy Chinese New Year tonight at our favourite restaurant and staying over at Sis. So I mustn't forget schedule tomorrows post.

A bit of Red!!!!

Well after cleaning up my PC is now looks like its back behaving but we will wait and see.
So todays card is using the sketch for the Sugar Bowl but I think I may have overdone the red. It was Ok till I put on the red flowers supposedly to match the ones in the image.
The image is one of Sugar Nellies Home grown ones but its still a bit of an oldie.
I was left with one square of paper and rather than waste it I followed this week Mojo sketch which gave me the opportunity to use my new Memory Box butterfly. Looking at it now I reckon I need a sentiment in the top left hand corner.

The Birds

Remind next time not to feel smug when reading about people have problems with blogger because this morning I must have torn out several strands of hair. I think possibly that it was my internet connection, along with a slow PC. But here are the Less is More Bird cards I made last night, when looking for stamps I found this Inkadinkado Bird and Owl set so instead of one card I made several!.
This is my favourite and so simple, just put different coloured gems in the flowers it does look better in real life and my Hero Arts sentiment isn't wishy washy either.
I think it was Chrissy who made a card with an embossed oval so I thought I would give it a try and just added some tiny jet gems with the sentiment.
So now we're getting inky, again I saw that someone had just done the corner but they done things a bit more arty than me. I have used Dusty Concord and Milled Lavender distress inks.
So here's my failures not sure if it was the inkpad I used was just too inky or that the stamps were new and not dirty even with Versamark stamped on first.
Another favourite is the Owl, this time I punched a circle to ink round to make the moon. The tree was Stampin Up unfortunately didn't realise that the Memories inkpad was that new and was very inky so the trees are a bit splugy but I still love it.
