Tri Shutter Card

We moved to wordpress so don't forget to update your bookmarks

This week the challenge is ,,,,,,,,

ANYTHING GOES

We are showcasing our very own Simon's Exclusive Products this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have them we would love to see them used.
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store!

First a bit of a warning this is picture heavy its really tricky photo-ing a Tri-Fold Card.

So I decided to use Sarah Kay some of my favourites the first one is Elodie in her garden
and the one below is Rose's garden.

The papers are Authentique Renew and two of the panels I've used

The centre panel is using the cloud from the Talk Bubbles die from Simon Says Stamps dies and I also used the Happy and All Ocassion banner set from Simon too.  The sentiment is out of my stash though so just proves you don't have to always used the stamps that can come with the die although there is some great ones that come with it but the plan was to give this to my Mum for her Birthday and I thought a swirly one was more appropriate.

Had to use a couple of butterflies and the Simon Says Stamps Leanna is my favourite even over the memory box ones but it doesn't have the body so I use a memory box one.
Now I did have a bit of problem and not just photo-ing my card I made the top and bottom too small
and with the weight of my layers it wouldn't stand up, that will be why its propped up against the kitchen tiles!!!!!!!
So the top and bottom should be at least 1 1/2 inches deep not 1 inch like I have and I possibly needed
2 inches but at the time I was thinking of making the middle panel has large has I could.
So I'm afraid after the photo was taken it found its way in the shhhhhhhhhhh (bin). Its not all bad I salvage the two Sarah Kays so you may find a card on my blog using the girls soon.

Now you know the drill to win the chance of this fabulous prize you have to enter the challenge with a new card no backlinking and you need to enter your post using the linky thing on the challenge blog. Also you need to link to the challenge in your post or you won't be eligible for the prize.

White wedding

This was in my head for the Less is More challenge to for handmade flowers although I wouldn't have used the Darice embossing folding to be in keeping with the challenge but seeing has I've missed the challenge it didn't matter.
The window is a Spellbinder die, I used both dies but before I lifted the die of the fancy scroll I drew round the the centre, then lifted the die and used my glass cutting board and sharp craft knife to cut the centre out.
The actual pane is cut out of the main mat and then embossed which does cause some embossing leading but I'm pretending that an aged look!
Then I used the Lavish branch from Memory box and Martha Stewart Hydrangea punch for the small flowers. The large one to hide the cut that I made in the Lavish Branch is Bella Bloom from Simon Says Stamps and so is the sentiment using the All Occasion Banner Set. I stamped the sentiment in versamark and then used silver embossing powder.

Let them eat Cake

I've had this gorgeous image coloured for absolutely ages but what put me off was the bow on her sleeve doesn't stamp that well. I'm finding some of my favourite stamp companies their quality of stamps are not as good as they were and even though they are more than happy to exchange them sometimes I just can't be bothered especially as this isn't the first stamp its happened to, so I've started to avoid buying them which is a shame.
So I should have used a Memento pen to draw the line but its gone missing so it was a good job I used a white bow and no colouring was involved.
The sketch is from The Sketchy Challenge I think there's enough of it left to considered although its still a bit clean and simple for me but this seems to be the new me at the moment.
I used the Harrington vine die from Simon Says stamps and I've acquired a new punch from Martha Stewart for the flowers although the larger ones are a Elizabeth Designs one. The corners are La La Land die but even that has a bit of an issue nothing a sharp knife can't deal with still a pain though.

I could have layer more of her hair like the ringlets could be done separate has could the rolls but there were a lot of cutting with this for example each one of the bows.
Looks like things are looking up and I actually made two cards yesterday, lets hope this continues.

Paul Texting

So here is my card that was suppose to be posted this morning just a CAS card since I haven't been able to keep awake lately just a combination of life catching up with me I suppose. The dotty paper is a down load and I used a scallop die for the border.
I inked the corner slighty to make a bit grungy and then used the fab teen/young man image of Paul's Texting.

The sentiment is a Hero Arts one which I think is pretty fantastic even if the tip of the f isn't showing up well. The clear stamps getting better the more you use them.
Fingers crossed tomorrow Mr Virgin behaves himself and possibly gets a bit faster.

left over

Well this is it all I have in drafts are some scrapbooking pages. These are the last things I made for Nikki's Lauch Party. Once again using Mosaic Madness and a card inspired by Pinterest. So please I got those tiny punches really step of the centres of the mosaics.

My Sister had this bag die from Stampin Up with Sizzix and I had seen the owls, yes I know on Pinterest so I had to have a go. The beak is the banner punch and I think the ears could be the bird wing possible.
The santa bags were very easy, I think the belt was using the die and I stuck it one side at a time, then used a small square punch and left over belt bits for the centre.
I was trying to mimic Santa's beard in the first one but I think I prefer the all red one though.

I'm going to have to make a card today but lately if I keep still for more than a second I drop off to sleep and its been one step forward and two steps back all week but I guess it can only get better.

Wish List

I stopped making the card that was on my desk since Monday and still not finished thats the kind of week I've had. But it if I didn't make a Penny Black card for Saturday there wouldn't have been one at all.
I was disappointed I didn't have a go at Less is More this week, but I decided to used the Freshly Made Sketch to make up for it.
So I spent a long time moving papers before deciding on some Penny Black ones and the stamp is called Wish List.
I wanted to use the Joy Snowflake border I picked up my travels when MIL was down.
Then I decided to use read pearls and had to change the main mat to a red one and realised that I should of used a red mat for the tag but that was well and truly stuck down and would of made a mess so had to leave alone.

What do you think of me showing an extra angle shot and should I continue.

Baby Blanket

I love making Granny Squares but having already made two I couldn't just make another I could visualise a house stacked up with Granny Blankets. Then hubby said why don't you make one for his friend new baby.
Not knowing what sex I used the lilac and green and found a pattern on the internet.
Because you make what the pattern said I discovered my tension is smaller than it should be and overall it almost a square too small all around.
To get over this I made the border bigger and incoporated stripes and follwed the holes in the corners to match the square. All in all pleased how it turned out, now I'm doing another shawl.

Mosaic Madness

Nothing new to show apart from a couple of more cards that were inspired by some I've seen on Pinterest that I made for Nikki's Launch Day using some of the new colours.
Again they're 100% Stampin Up products.

Simply Adorable

I think the images from Funky kits are adorable but I do have issues with deep shadowing for example it looks like she has a dirty neck. I brought two both have been coloured now so next time I may try to print them in brown to see if that actually improves them. It could be me just being fussy.
I also found to layer like I do they had to be quite large.
The papers are Kaiser and possibly the sketch started of being the Friday Sketch but sort of took it own life in hope it turned out alright. Here's an angle shot.

starting to feel normal after last week turned out a bit busy and add the heat was all a bit too much and will have to work out something different for next year. Although I have a card on my desk and its day 3 and it still not finished.

Summer Food & Drink

we have moved to Wordpress so don't forget to update you bookmarks.

This week the challenge is ,,,,,,,,

SUMMER FOOD AND DRINK

Think BBQ's, Cocktails, whatever you like to eat and drink during those long hot summer days ,,,, :-)Thanks Joy for this yummy Inspiration Board

We are showcasing Hero Arts this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have them we would love to see them used.

As always Heidi will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store!

So now to my card which could have worked for last weeks challenge of By the Sea, I've used the sweet Sarah Kay Picnic of Daisies.
I saw Lols had mad a sun out of the Simon Says Stamps Exclusive Sunshine die and I just knew I had to have it too, lucky for me it arrived just in time for my card. I used a nestabilities to make the sun once I used the die and the centre was embossed to give raised look.
The dotty paper is from Here and Now from Echo park and my fence was from MFT. Yes that is the Lavish Branch and the flowers are Fancy Blossoms from Memory Box.
My Ice Creams are a Hero Arts stamp set called Fantastic Birthday and I paper pieced them and I decided I needed a Fab ice lolly like I used to remember so I used some mixed micro beads in my stash and cover the top of it. I don't seemed to get my hands on Accent Beads anymore so they were brought on e-bay for nail art.

Another view of my card at a jaunty angle.

Now you know the drill to win the chance of this fabulous prize you have to enter the challenge with a new card no backlinking and you need to enter your post using the linky thing on the challenge blog. Also you need to link to the challenge in your post or you won't be eligible for the prize.

CAS

I borrowed my Sister's stamps and punch set and set about trying to find my mojo to make a card. In the end I cases one from Pinterest. The only thing I did different is I masked to flowers, I'm not a bit fan of stamping on top of stamping personally I think its messy.
So I patiently cut out a couple of masks then stamped my flowers. I used the punch for the large white flower and chopped it up to make it look like petals.
The centre is from My friend that I've used previously but love it so much had to use it again.
It's not been pleasant the last couple of days and apart from a few spots of rain all the thunderstorms have missed us.

It's a BOY

I had to make a boys baby card for my Hubby's friend and it seems very apt to publish it today after the birth of a Little boy to Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Seems everyone is having a boy lately.
First of all I had to choose an image and you can't go wrong in choosing a Mo's Baby image although I'm not keen on this ones name Spit Happens.
I fancied using the curved border which I think works well and I know its a boys card but I thought I might get away with these flowers and swirls both from MFT.
The corners are old now and the company Quickutz doesn't exist I think now, but they do make a nice finishing touch.

Another view using an angle shot.

Anyone for Tea

I think it will need to be iced tea down in the SE of England cos the temperatures today are not the norm and I have make my cards this morning before the sun hits my Craftroom and the list is getting longer now a baby boy as added to the list. Thank goodness there's a Mo image for every occasion.
So he's one of the girls from the Three for Tea set and I do believe there is now a clear set from Penny Black although the girls are a bit smaller than the one here. One of the advantages of digi images you can resize to the size you require.
The papers are Kaiser and yes my Floral Oval has come back out, so far I haven't seen anything better.
The swirl is from MFT which I've chopped the bottom and for a change I've used the funky flower punch from EK success but I do think its impossible to get and the the beautiful corner is from La La Land stamps.
All finished with pearls, lace and ribbon well you've got too.

Crafters have been showing their cards at a jaunty angle thought I would too. But I think she need to be a bit more of angle.
