Lets Celebrate

I finally got round to adding a title to this scrapbooking page, don't look to close I was short of an E and had to resort to using a F with a bit added.

The added colour of the flowers was so I could bring in the colour of my sister's hat.

To place next to it I have a pocket page, the journalling and the glitter added to the numbers was all it was waiting for to finish. I added the flowers as an afterthought but it links in the 12inch layout.

Bunny Time

Oh yes I made a Penny Black card fairly simple but I made one, things are still up and down, good days, bad days and March is looking just as busy.

I used some much loved Doodlebug paper not sure which one but it is an old one. My Penny Black image is an old wooden one, I have about three bunny ones and they come out every year near Easter.

I used my retro punch from EK Success but I noticed the ends are getting ragged but I haven't found the perfect die to replace it yet.

My grass is MFT and so is the tiny scallop border, a bit of ribbon job done.

Short and sweet post but I have two DT cards I must make today, I really need to make a third but pretty sure thats a card too far.

I'm really please I was able to join the Design Team this week didn't think I would be up to making a card for it but it was using Memory Box Products and I have lots.

Of course I then realised I didn't have many new ones, returning to old favourites most of the time and the ones I brought for the challenge I obviously had an idea what I was going to do but for the life of me couldn't remember what it was.

So I popped over to Simon Says Stamps and checked out the Memory Box products and there were loads I could chose from. I finally settled on using the Distressed Windham Collage die which I don't use enough and after making this card I think I will use it more.

First I made my Oval Frame using the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Ovals but before I placed it I used the Windham die then cut out using the large oval. I used sticky fixers to add my frame leaving a gap for my leaves, which were Memory Box Botanical Stem.

I then added the Avery Elle Love die and layered possibly another couple times to help it stand out of all the white before adding flowers.  I wanted small flowers otherwise they would have dominated the card so I used Simon Says Stamp Mini Flowers and Leaves

To make the base layer again I cut the Windham die and then added the large rectangle from Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Shapes. It may seemed complicated but it wasn't really and love when an idea in my head works out so well.

So now it's YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting

Sorry Piggy

Well impressed with myself I made a card and just in time to add it to the Everybody Art Challenge for this challenge of Two Borders, Ok I cheated a little I've got three.

I used the Simon Says Stamp Wavy Scallop Stitched borders there's three in the set and it seemed wrong to leave one out. The Papers are Doodlebug and my little cute piggy is from Stamping Bella.

I was inspired by this week Sketch Saturday sketch but them I added ribbon and I had drifted away from actually sketch. Especially once I had used the Avery Elle Dotted Oval and the Contrasting Oval Scallop.

I finished off using the EK flower punch and used Paper Smooches sentiments which I then used Stamping up Punches.

As you can see the camera wasn't loving the pinks and they are not quite matching but looks OK in real life.

Do pop over to challenge blog and check out the fabulous creations also maybe you liked to join us this week.

Bunny Background

I was very lucky to be sent the Bunny Background stamp from Simon Says Stamp although they call it Peeps Background.

My first card is using it has an actual background and added the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Daisies with the Cluster of Leaves dies. I discovered I don't have any Simon Says Stamp Easter sentiments but I did have Simon Says Stamps Essential Greetings just needed to find a Happy.

Finding a Happy stamp was easier than I thought I had the Simon Says Stamp Happy stamp set it was just a case of chosing one.

But what else can you do with a background stamp well in this case I made an Easter Egg using the Simon Says Stamps Stitched Ovals and I was inspired by the gold Lindt bunny which is why I used gold embossing.

The sentiment is using the same as above and the scallop border that you can just about see is Lawn Fawn Stitched Scallop border.

The journey home last week was horrendous and I'm still suffering which means the craft room has been gathering dust but I hope to get in there to make a card or two maybe for my DT work today.

Red Rose

This is the same Penny Black stamp as of yesterday but I have layered the petals and leaves, I find this much easier to colour. I stamp several images and colour the parts I need to and since I am cutting them out it doesn't matter if I go over the lines.

I needed a frame so I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Oval but you can see the crease monkey has been again. I thought perhaps it wasn't straight and tried to lift but the sticky fixers were well and truly stuck. If I was short of time I could have made another frame and stuck it on top.

My Red Rose card is a reminder that we are halfway through the Red and Heart Challenge on Penny Black Saturday Challenge and to let you know you still have time to join us and some of the team have posted on the challenge blog some new cards to inspire you.

I'm going to a Stampin Up class this morning but that will probably be the only card making I shall be doing over the weekend. I always suffer when we get back from travelling and the stop start on the M40 for a couple of hours as taken its toll.

One layer Rose

There are two things I must remember for next time I make a one layer card, one is to make sure I use a fairly new cutting plate because I can just make out some random embossing, luckily the camera hasn't picked it all up.

Two make sure your card fits properly in the Big Shop that way you won't get a crease, this one is a bit more obvious.

There is a third, which is don't bother, it was really difficult to keep with the lines and making sure when I blended the colours I did it carefully.

The rose is from a Penny Black Clear Set called Efflorescence tomorrow I will show it when its been Debby-lised.

I'm going to enter this to the Less is More One Layer challenge thats if I remember to, its been a busy week.

Boys

This would have been the card I would have posted if I had joined the Dream Team Blog Hop this month, which is for Boys by the way.  I decided to pull out this month since we are probably packing the car to return home from MIL funeral and Mr Blogger is doesn't always behave when you scheduling.

My little chap is called Lil' Hocky Guy and I had these few papers from Doodlebug in the perfect boys colours.

The stars are my Christmas present Stitched Stars from MFT which were perfect for the papers. I since my little guy is a cool dude I used the Paper Smooches Happy Birthday die but its an absolute pain. First I have to cut one in scrap paper to give me a template for when I cut it out in the colour I want since each letter is loose but it is worth it in the end.

If you want to check out the Dream Teams Blog Hop it starts a Lou's Blog but if you get lost on the way there is a post on the Dream Team Blog with the hop run in its entirety.

Shake it Up

wed-newchallenge-header

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the One Layer Challenge and we hope you will join in with our new theme!
We will be back soon with the name of the lucky winner of the $50 Voucher
This week the challenge is

Shake It Up

For this challenge we would like to see some shaker style creations, you can shake some ink sprays and give your projects a spritz or use an action wobble to make something shake! Whatever you decide to shake we will be looking forward to seeing it!
We are showcasing WE R MEMORY KEEPERS PRODUCTS this week. You don't have to use them to join in with the challenge, but if you have them we would love to see them used!
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store
50dollar_voucher_600px

I used the Metallic Confetti from We R Memorykeepers to place in my shaker card which I made using the Simon says Stamp Stitched Ovals.

The papers are Crate Paper Hello Love but as you can see they're not just for Valentines. I also used the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Shapes which has the large rectangle for the black spotted paper.

The large flower is also Simon Says Stamp called Stitched Daisies and the heart is from their Surely Stitched Heart, its the little heart that comes in centre this is mainly because I have unfortunately lost the heart in the Bundle of Shapes.

The sentiment is from the Its Your Birthday from Simon Says Stamp but I used a square punch to make the fishtail for my banner.

Nearly forgot the fabulous image is from Art Impressions Cupcake Bff

So now it's YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting

Embossing

You have to chose a technique for this weeks Everybody Art Challenge and I decided on embossing mainly because time is against me this week. Of course I could have decided not to dot the daisies and embossed dots.

I made a scene using an old Stampin Up cloud embossed folder with the old cuttlebug flower folder and the Hills and Slopes die from Simon Says Stamp.

The idea I was going to add the goose/duck image from yesterday but once I made the card I rather liked it without any image so I added a craftwork sentiment and a bit of Doodlebug twine.

I'm trying not to think it may have looked better with the goose/duck!

Sorry

A card for Monday haven't had one for a while but this was a quick CAS one and the High Hope Goose or Duck not sure which was meant for another card tomorrows in fact.

But has he was left over I use the Freshly Made Sketch for Inspiration, the placement of the feet gave me a bit of headache but I think they're Ok but now I realise they should be closer together.

The Stitched Circles and Rectangle are both from Simon Says Stamps.

White on White

I wanted to make a card today but it had to be quick one, well this one was fairly quick although the Penny Black Background die decided to be naughty and I had to cut another one since the first one didn't cut properly.

The Penny Black word stamp I've had for a while and I stamped and embossed in gold, I thought this would be better than black on white on white card.

I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle die which I cut out first then stamped and embossed.

The tiny butterflies are a Memory Box die I recently brought since my tiny butterfly punch I've had to throw away since it wasn't punching that well and was hurting my hands. I have layered them twice along with the Penny Black Lots of Love die to help it show up better again because it was a white card.

The inspiration for my card comes from this week CAS this sketch 159 not sure whether to enter since I may have gone overboard on the sentiment part.

Daisies

Goodness I have a card for today but I don't have one tomorrow and hopefully after swimming this morning I will feel up to making one.

I saw the sketch on Mojo Monday not even sure its this weeks and I thought the daisies could take the place of circles on the card so I used the Stitched Daisies from Simon Says Stamp and the banner paper is Taylored Expression which I used a Simon says Stamps Stitched Rectangle.

All finished with a fish tail banner using again a Simon Says Stamp Birthday greeting stamp. I'm cheating really since all these dies are always on my desk in a pile and I only put them away when the pile keeps falling over.

I've looked and this is indeed this week Mojo Monday sketch no 434.

Hugs

Saved again by the marvellous images from Mo Manning, this time I've used Hug which could be used for a thinking of you card or Valentines. I think if I do use it for a Thinking of you card I will add a die cut word Hugs, not sure I've got one but I can soon remedy that !

The papers are Doodlebug and when you not sure how to embellish just get your favourites out like the EK Success Retro Flower punch, glad that I can still punch with it. The leaves are Memory Box but I've cut them up to suit my flowers and where I have placed them.

The frame is Spellbinder Floral Oval and I used the La La land Corners but I have double layered them because they weren't showing up well on the patterned paper.

We now have water, the Dining room is almost ready for hubby to start painting and fingers crossed we will have the date for MIL funeral today.

One Layer

wed-newchallenge-header

Hello, friends! Welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge blog!
Thank you for joining us for the Have A Heart Challenge. We hope you will join in with our new theme!
We will be back soon with the name of the lucky winner of the $50 Voucher!
This week the challenge is...

One Layer!

For this challenge you may add die cut pieces and embellishments but the front of the card should look like one layer. We know this one can be tricky for some folks, but we also know you guys ROCK OUR SOCKS every week, so we can't WAIT to see what you do with the One Layer challenge! Your designs inspire us! Show us what you can do!
We are showcasing PAPER SMOOCHES PRODUCTS this week. You don't have to use them to join in with the challenge, but if you have them we would love to see them used! Paper Smooches offers a wide variety of stamps including cuteness, pretty designs, every day basics, and amazing sentiments! Be sure to check out their latest to see what you may need to add to your collection!
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store! I think that would be pretty fun to spend, how about you? *wink*
50dollar_voucher_600px

To make my card first I used the Bundle of Stitched Shapes from Simon Says Stamp to make the size of card I want. I then used Simon Says Stamp Stitched Oval and embossed the centre, I also used the same die to make a mask for the centre.

I then used the Paper Smooches Swirls and Curls stamps and using a Black dye Inkpad stamped round my oval. The Handwritten Greeting from Simon Says Stamp looked a bit lost in the centre so I add the black ribbon.

You may think this isn't one layer since I've stuck it onto a card but in the past I've made so many mistakes I'm not prepared to waste card stock stamping directing to the actual card. So my first card is what it would look like if it was made as a one layer, I suppose you could emboss the bundle of shapes and cut round the three sides and fold along the top.

To be honest although most people would be happy with the above card I'm a mat and layer type of gal. So I lifted the front of the above card and mat and layered with black and white and now in my opinion job done.

So now it's YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting

Hearts

It had to be a quick card for Everybody Art Challenge since I could only make my card last minute and this weeks challenge is for Hearts.

I was going to add flowers and point to the heart hiding behind my image but in the end I decided on some yellow polka dot hearts to match the stocking my image is wearing.

The adorable image is from Saturated Canary, I pretty sure she came with a group of images. The papers are some old ones no idea who since it was a 12 by 12 and I had cut them into 6inch and no manufacturing strip in sight.

The hearts are a Simon Says Stamp Die with graduating hearts and I used an old corner punch to make my rounded corners. The twine is of course doodlebug.

Do pop over and check out the team's fabulous creations and hope you can join us this month.

At last the plummer should be here soon to fit our new cold water tank and finally I can flush the loos, I've been an extra burden since I can't lift the buckets of water to flush them.

January Card Kit

I felt really guilty that I had been sent the January Simon Says Stamp card kit but time has been racing away that I hadn't used it yet.

Before the decorator and all that happened last week I did manage to make  a couple of quick cards and to be honest with what came in the kit does help to make than quickly. Sorry if they are not very inspiring.

The worse part of the first one is actually cutting the papers once that was done it was a case of putting the card together and adding a snowflake which is Simon Says Stamp Alexis Snowflake and the Stitched Snowflakes. To finish I used the glitter sprinkles that came with the kit.

The words were on a patterned piece of cardstock with the kit and cut off the snowman, again using the Stitched snowflakes and sprinkles. Oh and the silver glitter ribbon is self adhesive and again from the kit.

The penquins and the words were again from the patterned cardstock and cut to suit my card. Stitched Snowflakes to finish. Still have loads of stuff left.
